Utility Broadband Alliance to Provide a Powerful Industry Advantage

pdvWireless has announced that Southern Linc will serve as a founding member of an alliance of utilities and vendors that will become a hub of information sharing, collaboration, and planning. The aim is to assist the development of private wireless broadband networks owned by and dedicated to utilities.

The alliance will drive scale and innovation within the utility broadband industry through initiatives such as:

  2. Device testing and certification
  3. Vendor equipment testing and network deployment pilots
  4. Security, integration, and operational best practices

Today’s private wireless broadband networks enable secure, highly reliable, low latency communications that facilitate a unified platform to support the evolving digital, distributed, and intelligent power system across a wide platform of use cases.

Examples of how these networks can be leveraged include electric operations monitoring and control systems, distributed energy and storage, dynamic customer engagement, mission-critical push-to-talk, and other voice communications.
